Born in 1945 at First Mesa, Maynard Navasie was a renowned Hopi-Tewa potter from a lineage of skilled artisans. He was the son of Joy Navasie (Second Frogwoman) and grandson of Paqua Naha (First Frogwoman), and learned the craft from his mother. His wife, Veronica, was also a talented potter, having learned from her mother, Laura Preston. With their collaborative efforts, Maynard would meticulously sand, polish, and paint the pots while Veronica would expertly form them. Together, they signed their pieces with their initials and a frog symbol, creating a recognizable trademark. After Maynard's passing in 1999 and Veronica's in 2003, their legacy lives on through their beautifully crafted pottery pieces.  Signed M.N & V.N with a frog symbol.
