Stella Teller was born in 1929 into the Pueblo of Isleta-Tewa. She is a world renowned artist and the mother of Mona and Lynette Teller. She began working with clay at a young age, helping her mother with her pottery.
Her pottery is made using natural pigments gathered from within the Isleta Pueblo. The sculptures are hand pinched, hand coiled, hand painted, and fired outdoors, the traditional way with cow chips used for fuel. She signs her work- Stella Teller, Isleta, N.M.
