Vintage Zuni Pueblo Three Strand Bird Fetish Necklace

Lavina Tsikewa Kaskalla is famous for her masterfully carved fetish necklaces, continuing the tradition passed on to her by her parents, David and Mary Tsikewa. Three strands and a total of 60 delicate birds carved from Mother of Pearl and Abalone shells make up this treasure of a necklace. Strung of olive shell heishi and finished with sterling silver cones and a hook and eye clasp. The necklace has not been cleaned as most collectors prefer the old pawn look. 

Size: Necklace is 27" long on the outermost strand, 22.5" on the innermost. Longest piece is approx. 1 1/8".
