Natural Golden Hill Turquoise Sterling Silver Lariat Necklace Set

Navajo artist Melvin Francis used all natural high grade Golden Hill turquoise to create this stunning set. The incredible stones are accented with classic designs in sterling silver and strung on a single strand of sterling silver links. Includes matching earrings. Stamped FRANCIS and sterling.

Materials: Sterling silver and Natural Golden Hill Turquoise 

Size: Inner strand of this necklace is 26" in total length. Center pendants hang an additional 4 1/2" long. It is finished with a lobster claw clasp.

Dangle earrings are 1 1/2" long w/hook, 3/4" wide.

The Altyn-Tyube ("Golden Hill" in the Kazakh language) mountain range is located in Kazakhstan about 200 miles South of the Russian border. This is where the original Golden Hill mine is located. Another 200 or so miles South brings us to the more recently discovered Lavender mine. While both produce similar material, the Lavender mine tends to produce more turquoise with spiderwebbing. The rough turquoise from both mines tends to get mixed together, so all of the material is generally marketed as Golden Hill turquoise.
